adoptions by same sex couples

A great resource for gay and lesbian adoptive families is www.familieslikeours.org. Hope this is helpful!

If you have an adoption story to share, please do so! The best advocates for adoption are the families who have completed the process and built a family!

My life partner and I successfully adopted an infant, with the adoption being finalized December 19, 2007. We adopted our son as a "couple" rather than being required to have one of us adopt, then the other complete a second-parent adoption. This was highly unusual, especially considering we live in Clarion County, PA. We'd like to connect via email with other gay and lesbian couples who have adopted in Pennsylvania, and hear their stories. We love our son, and hope that he grows up feeling blessed to have 2 moms. Hope to hear from other happy LGBT parents soon!
