Hello,
Thank you for your interest in foster care and adoption! Almost anyone can adopt a child from foster care. People of all different races and religious beliefs; of all ages; you can be single or married; you do not have to be rich or have a degree. Also, those who are raising or have raised children, or just simply want to become parents. People who become foster or adoptive parents are interested in the well being of children.
Please visit the AdoptUsKids website at http://www.adoptuskids.org and complete the request for information form. AdoptUsKids will mail you an information packet and a Recruitment Response Team member with lots of experience in foster care and adoption will contact you to answer all of your questions and provide you with the support you may need throughout the process. Please also feel free to contact me at chernandez@adoptuskids.org or at 570-426-9169. Wishing you much success!

Please dont let your age, marital status or anything else get in the way if you want to adopt a child. I am 56 and divorced for many years and have adopted 3 children and am in the process of searching for more. I have seen many children on the site that the caseworkers have requested bi-lingual families or state that the children wish to pursue their cultural heritage. The concerns you see as a hinderance may just be the opposite so I would suggest you check into the possibility of adoption. And, congratulations for furthering your education and working on the degree. I am just 3 classes short of my bachelors and wish I had the incentive to finish!!

Orgulosos padres de crianzas.
