I am 56 and divorced for many years and have adopted 3 children and am in the process of searching for more. I have seen many children on the site that the caseworkers have requested bi-lingual families or state that the children wish to pursue their cultural heritage. The concerns you see as a hinderance may just be the opposite so I would suggest you check into the possibility of adoption. And, congratulations for furthering your education and working on the degree.
